A simple induction model characterizing the evolution of the wind flow approaching a wind turbine rotor is presented - along with the numerical simulation results that allowed to derive the model - in a scientific article by Niels Troldborg and Alexander R. The 4th and last measurement campaign of the UniTTe project has started in July 2017 in Hill of Towie, Scotland, UK. The purpose of the campaign is to demonstrate how nacelle lidar measurements can benefit power performance testing in complex terrain, with an emphasis on whether or not nacelle lidars could also be used to calibrate a site. After post-processing some of the raw data from the Perdigão experiment, conducted by researchers from DTU Wind Energy in May till June of this year, a real-world visualisation of the acquisition method was created, giving a first impression of the air flow in mountainous terrain and its interaction with a wind turbine.
